Mamelodi Sundowns complete club record signing

OFFICIAL: Mamelodi Sundowns complete club record signing

South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the signing of 22-year-old Brazilian striker Arthur de Oliveira Sales from Belgian club Lommel SK.

Sundowns did not announce the details of the deal with Arthur de Oliveira, but only revealed that the player has signed a long-term contract with the club.

According to Transfermarkt, the deal has cost Sundowns €3.2 million, which would make it the most expensive signing in the club’s history, according to the same website.

Sales becomes the club’s third summer signing following the deals for Kobamelo Kodisang and Ricardo Gross as Sundowns prepare for a new era following the departure of Rhulani Mokwena.

The Brazilian forward is expected to compete with veteran striker Peter Shalulile for a starting spot after scoring 10 goals and assisting three in Belgium last season, leading his club to promotion.

During his career, Sales also played for Vasco da Gama, Portuguese club Paços Ferreira and Brazilian side Bahia.
