Traditional ruler and his son were killed by suspected bandits

The traditional ruler of Chanchangi in Takum Local Government Area Taraba State and his son were killed by suspected bandits.

Kumbiya Tanimu and her son, Yusuf, were killed on Friday night on the Takum-Chachanji highway while returning from a funeral in Takum.

Governor Agbu Kefas confirmed the incident and ordered law enforcement to bring the killers to justice.

In a press statement by his press aide, Emmanuel Bello, the governor also expressed his condolences to the bereaved family, the community of Chanchangi and the entire people of Takum over the incident.

“The governor, while calling for calm among the residents of Takum, said he would spare no effort to catch the criminals and bring them to justice as soon as possible,” Bello said.

Similarly, the state’s Tiv cultural and social association also condemned the killing of the monarch and his son.

In a statement, the association’s president general, James Baka, called on the government and security agencies to track down the killers.
