Dominic Isaacs’ ‘only’ concern about the Chiefs’ new coaching staff

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Dominic Isaacs has revealed his only concern about Kaizer Chiefs’ new coaching team led by Tunisian tactician Nasreddine Nabi.

The Soweto giants have made drastic changes to their coaching staff ahead of the 2024/25 PSL season as they look to end their nine-season trophy drought.

Last season, Chiefs endured their worst run in the PSL, finishing tenth in the league. They started the campaign with Molefi Ntseki in charge, but the former Bafana Bafana coach was shown the exit and replaced by Cavin Johnson on an interim basis.

So far, the club has not made any announcements regarding Dillon Sheppard, who served as assistant coach last season.

The Glamour Boys brought in experienced Tunisian mentor Nasreddine Nabi, who was accompanied by his own technical team. This team includes assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Fernando Da Cruz, goalkeeping coach Ilyes Mzoughi and fitness coach Safi Majdi.

Amakhosi are currently in a pre-season camp in Turkey, where they are preparing and gearing up for the upcoming campaign.

DOMINIC ISAACS IN THE KAIZER CHIEFS TECHNICAL TEAM

Isaacs approves of the new coaching team that has been appointed, but is concerned that there is no South African coach in the new structures.

“They are great coaches, but my opinion is that when that coach leaves, he leaves with his entire technical team. “I don’t see anyone from the Chiefs’ development structures or anyone working with the coaches long-term who has been at the Chiefs for a while and knows the club,” Isaacs said. FAR position.

“Look at Carlos Alberto Perreira; he worked with Pitso (Mosimane). Pitso learned a lot from Perreira. That’s my view; I would have loved to see someone there from the Chiefs structures who learned from these experienced coaches.

“But, I don’t know, maybe they’re doing that with someone like David Mathebula, who’s in the Chiefs’ development.

“As it stands on paper, there is no South African or Chiefs coach; Nabi will leave with his entire technical team, and none of the local Chiefs coaches will gain any knowledge from them.”
