Emio demo and Stumble Guys join this week’s eShop roundup

What’s happening on the eShop this week? There’s a new contender for the most chaotic multiplayer around with Stumble Guys, a free-to-play title that pits 32 players into online running, jumping, and falling platforming situations. Can it compete with Fall Guys? We’ll check it out and let you know.

In the meantime, there’s a demo for Emio available ahead of the game’s full release on August 29. This meaty demo features a prologue and the fist two chapters, giving you plenty to do as you get to know the story and characters in this creepy mystery involving an urban legend. We’ve played the demo and discuss it on the next episode of the Pure Nintendo Podcast, so stay tuned for our thoughts!

There’s also sales, pre-orders, sweepstakes, and plenty of new games to tempt you, so let’s get to it! Check out the full list below and let us know what you’re playing this weekend!

Demos

  • Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club – The second installment in the episodic demo* of the Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club game approaches! A student has been found dead, his head covered with a paper bag with an eerie smile drawn on it. This scene is much like the victims of Emio, the Smiling Man—a killer of urban legend who is said to grant his victims “a smile that will last forever.” Play as an assistant private investigator from the Utsugi Detective Agency tasked with helping the police uncover the truth behind this heinous crime, which is reminiscent of a series of unsolved murders from 18 years ago. Begin your investigation in Chapter 1 of the demo and summarize when Chapter 2 launches later today on Nintendo eShop, followed by Chapter 3 on the evening of Aug. 27. Don’t worry about losing your case notes – players can carry their progress forward to the full version of the game if purchased. Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club launches on Aug. 29.
