Get ready for the PS5 Pro: here’s what we know about pre-ordering

If you’re a serious gamer, you’ve probably been eagerly awaiting the release of the PlayStation 5 Pro. Gamers have been speculating about the next version of Sony’s innovative gaming console for a while now, and today the company finally shared some news about the PS5 Pro. CNET editor Scott Stein has already gotten his hands on the new console and was able to compare it to the existing PlayStation 5. Now we’ve learned that you can officially pre-order the PS5 Pro starting September 26, 2024.

The very first PS5 released in 2020, and the PS5 Pro features some fantastic upgrades over the first edition, including clearer, more lifelike visuals. Sony has upgraded the GPU on the PS5 Pro to 28% faster memory than the current PS5. Additional upgrades include 67% more compute units and advanced ray tracing, allowing you to deliver faster rays of light as you play. The PS5 Pro also outputs graphics at higher frame rates for sharp visuals while playing even the most action-packed games. The PS5 Pro is capable of refresh rates of up to 120Hz and includes Tempest 3D audio technology for an immersive soundscape.

You can pre-order the PS5 Pro directly from Sony at September 26but the retail price of $699.99 will be available on November 7th. Your purchase includes a pre-installed copy of Astro’s Playroom, a DualSense controller, and 2TB of storage, so you can save all your games. The PS5 Pro is discless, but you can purchase a separate drive so you can play your favorite classic games.
