2024 schedule, odds and betting odds for MLB Playoffs Divisional Series schedule

The MLB Playoffs Wild Card round ended quickly for the two American League favorites. The surging Detroit Tigers defeated the Houston Astros and the Kansas City Royals also came out on top in a 2-game sweep against the Baltimore Orioles. The San Diego Padres defeated the Atlanta Braves to set up a showdown with their NL West rival Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Divisional Series (NLDS).

“This is what everyone wanted,” Padres star Manny Machado told ESPN when facing the Dodgers.

The New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers World Cup series are tied at 1-1 with Thursday’s winner advancing to the NLDS to face the Philadelphia Phillies.

Three of the series odds will be set in the ALDS and NLDS and Game 1 matchups beginning Saturday, October 5 will be posted on leading online sportsbooks.

The excitement and electricity of the Major League Baseball playoffs were on full display in the Wild Card round. The passion of fans and players for playoff baseball brings out the best in sports and competition, and the five-game divisional series will drive increased engagement, viewing and betting action.

The leading online sportsbooks enjoyed the Tigers’ upset along with the Royals, as DraftKings reported that more than 70% of the money went to the Astros and Orioles to win their series. Bettors backed the San Diego Padres even more, while the New York Mets were the only underdog of the series to take in a larger percentage of money as New York bettors back the Mets and Yankees next round in the ALDS.

But the surprising and surging Detroit Tigers have overcome long odds to make the postseason. According to FanGraphs, Detroit was given less than a 1% chance of making the postseason on August 11. The Tigers were also as high as 350/1 to win the American League Pennant.

The MLB Playoffs will take on NCAA football and the NFL on Saturday and Sunday for viewers and bettors. But baseball in October endures and provides memorable moments during the most special time of the sports season.
