Originally created by engineer Josh Wardle as a gift for his partner, Word spread quickly and grew into an international phenomenon, with thousands of people around the world playing every day. Alternative Word Fan-made versions also emerged, including Battle Royale Bickeringmusic identification game Hearand variations such as Dordle And Quordle so you have to guess several words at the same time.
