Tyler, the Creator Teases New Project ‘Chromakopia’ With ‘St. Chroma’ video: watch

It looks like a new Tyler, The Creator project is in store. The most recent Tyler album was an excellent rap record Call me if you get lostwhich came out in 2021. Tyler just produced and tapped Maxo Kream’s single “Cracc Era” last month, and he’ll reportedly soon star in Josh Safdie’s film alongside Timothée Chalamet Marty Supreme. Now Tyler has shared a new music video, and it certainly appears to be the first glimpse of a new project called Chromacopy.

Tyler’s new video accompanies a new song called “St. Chroma.” Judging from its short length and past precedent, the video likely doesn’t contain the entire song. However, what we hear is great. Tyler raps menacing whispers over marching boots, haunting John Carpenter synths and gospel-inspired choirs. Just as the video ends, the beat drops and immediately slides into the chaotic Playboi Carti song. Mission accomplished. I’m excited.

The video is also exciting. Tyler’s clip consists entirely of one tracking shot, and to describe it would be giving things away. Check it out for yourself below.
