Georgia’s gas tax suspension is set to expire

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Governor Brian Kemp has extended the state of emergency following Hurricane Helene, but only for certain counties. It covers 62 counties in the southern and eastern parts of the state.

The state of emergency for the rest of Georgia ends on Wednesday, October 16 at 11:59 PM. This means that the suspension of the state gas tax also ends.

Georgians have saved about 32 cents per gallon since the suspension went into effect on October 3.
