Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz dress up as ET for Halloween 2024

It’s Heidiween again

Every year since 2000, Heidi Klum has thrown her famous Halloween party, appearing in some truly otherworldly costumes that others wouldn’t dare wear — think a peacock, an old lady and, of course, a worm look that became an instant classic .

And this time is certainly no exception.

The model and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, were both dressed as versions of the alien ET from the beloved 1982 film ‘ET the Extra-Terrestrial’.

Klum’s ET wore a hat and blonde wig reminiscent of a memorable scene from the Steven Spielberg-directed blockbuster in which Drew Barrymore’s character, Gertie, gives him a makeover.

Meanwhile, her rocker husband channeled the classic ET character.

The couple debuted their epic costumes at the model’s annual Halloween bash, which was hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City.

Her latest look was created with the help of expert prosthetic designer Mike Marino, who has worked on projects like Max’s ‘The Penguin’ and Sebastian Stan’s latest film, ‘A Different Man’.

He was also responsible for Klum’s 2022 worm costume and 2018’s Shrek and Fiona couple costume with Kaulitz.

Ahead of the big red carpet reveal, Klum shared photos of her lengthy preparation process, including one of her face covered in prosthetics and another with a big toe.

Klum first shared a sneak peek of her outfit in September.

“#HeidiHalloween is starting to take shape… 👻👻👻,” she captioned the video, showing a sneak peek of her highly anticipated costume.

The look in the clip resembled some kind of slimy reptile; however, she provided no additional hints.

She also showed off the preparation process on Amazon Live, calling the look her “least comfortable” costume ever.

In an exclusive interview with People in September, the “America’s Got Talent” judge revealed that she had obviously been working on the costume for months.

“Because molds have to be made,” she told the outlet. “Prosthetics need to be made, fittings need to be made.”

“So yeah, there’s a lot involved because I wanted to be so spectacular that this isn’t something that I can just put together overnight.”

Although she gets it right every time, Klum told the publication that she often feels pressure when it comes to revealing her annual costume.

“It takes a long time. It takes a lot of planning,” the former “Project Runway” host explains.

“And also when I do the reveal, I want to have a special reveal because I know I have so many fans and those specific Halloween fans are people who also like to dress up and come up with amazing things.

“So I feel like they really watch what I do and I don’t want to disappoint anyone, so I always give it my all,” Klum adds.

The consensus? Her costume was well worth the wait.
