Houston Texans take on New York Jets on ‘Thursday Night Football’ in Week 9 of the NFL regular season

RUTHERFORD, N.J. (KTRK) — The Houston Texans advanced to prime time against the New York Jets on Thursday, and the players were there for it.

“Prime time, baby,” Texans defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr. said. to ABC13.

After being ignored during the NFL prime time schedule last season, the Texans will get three consecutive prime time games, starting with the matchup against Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.

Tank Dell will lead a Texans receiver group that is missing Stefon Diggs and Nico Collins. After a slow start to the season, Dell said he is ready to play for CJ Stroud.

“I have so much fuel. I’m ready to go out and play,” Dell said.

A winning formula for the Texans starts with good protection for Stroud after he was sacked six times in the last two games combined.

Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. will lead the Texans defense after being named AFC Defensive Player of the Month on Thursday. Anderson collected five sacks in October, and he can add to that total against Rodgers.

The Texans defense was quietly great, ranking second in the NFL in yards allowed.
