Davante Adams clears concussion protocol with a huge sigh of relief

The Jets got a shock from one of their stars.

But not only did they avoid the worst, they also saw some signs of life.

Davante Adams was evaluated for a concussion after taking a hard hit early in the fourth quarter of the Jets’ “Thursday Night Football” game against the Texans at MetLife Stadium.

But he returned with about four minutes left in the final quarter of regulation after going through concussion protocol and went on to score his first touchdown in a jet uniform.

With the Jets in a fourth-and-short situation near midfield, Aaron Rodgers connected with Adams on a 17-yard gain before the wideout took a hard hit on the sideline from Houston safety Eric Murray.

Adams remained on the ground for a few moments before standing up on the Jets’ sideline.

He was then taken to the blue medical tent and then to the locker room, where he was examined for a concussion.

After some time off the field, Adams returned to action with the Jets leading 14-10 after Garrett Wilson’s go-ahead goal.

And with just over three minutes left, Rodgers found a streaking Adams along the seam on the other side of the field, and the two connected for a 37-yard touchdown.

A crazy turn of events for the Jets.
