Tiffany Haddish was kicked out of ballet class at the age of 27 for swearing

Tiffany Haddish has tried her hand at ballet in the past, but don’t expect to see her dancing on screen anytime soon.

“I auditioned for a ballet-style dance film and didn’t get accepted. But I also got kicked out of ballet class,” Haddish, 44, said exclusively We weekly at the NYC Ballet Fall Fashion Gala at Lincoln Center earlier this month.

And what was the reason she was thrown out? ‘For swearing. That hurts!” Haddish joked.

The incident happened when the Girls trip actress was 27, and it led her to never return to dance ballet. Instead, she preferred to watch them.

“I’m going to ballet. I go to the recital just to hit the teacher,” Haddish said.

Still, the comedian hasn’t let that one experience take away her interest in other types of dance — or ballet-inspired exercises.

“I always do it alone at home. I’m not good at it,” Haddish said Us. “I take barre lessons. That’s my jam!”

In September, Haddish was front row at Monse’s Spring 2025 fashion show during New York Fashion Week. Sit in the front row and mingle with her Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Kathy Hilton And Coco Rocha. Haddish surprised fans when she rose from her seat and walked down the runway in a satin olive green Monse suit with a deep V-neck and wide-leg pants.

“I have always loved fashion and always wanted to be a part of it. My grandmother was a model in the 1950s and 1960s,” Haddish said. Us. “She was one of the first black women to appear on television in California modeling clothes.”
Haddish’s grandmother passed on some of her best tips to her granddaughter, which she can now use during her many red carpet appearances.

“She taught me certain ways to stand,” the actress explained. ‘We didn’t have a lot of money, because models didn’t make a lot of money at that time. She taught me a lot about fashion and making clothes. I like making clothes and stuff like that. So fashion is part of who I am, and it’s the way you express yourself.”
