Happy Friday! For the first time in almost a month, there is a chance of rain when our next weather maker arrives. During the morning commute, plan for a line of showers that crosses the DMV from west to east.

The DC Metro may experience a period of showers between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Leading up to this front it will also be very warm, with temperatures starting in the 60s across the area (our average daytime high for November 1 is 64 degrees). Skies will brighten in the afternoon, allowing temperatures to rise to around 80 degrees.

Skies will be clear tonight with temperatures in the 60s for your Friday evening plans. Expect a clear, cooler night with lows falling into the 40s for much of the DMV.

On Saturday it will feel like autumn again for the first weekend of November. High temperatures will be in the 60s with abundant sunshine. Don’t forget to turn your clock back an hour before you go to bed.

Daylight saving time is Sunday at 2am, sunrise time is 6:39am and sunset is at 5:05pm. After a cold start in the 30s and 40s, high temperatures will rise to the low temperatures into the mid 60s, right where temperatures should be around this time of year.

Another wave of milder air arrives next week with highs around 80 degrees for Election Day.
