Eva Longoria reveals Victoria Beckham’s secret breakfast recipe as she claims best friend is ‘easy’ when it comes to food

David Beckham may lament that his wife lives on a diet of grilled fish and steamed vegetables, but Eva Longoria has revealed she makes a big breakfast.

The former Desperate Housewives actress, 49, has a decades-long friendship with the fashion designer, 50, who rarely strays from her strict diet.

But when it comes to breakfast, she has a knack for making “amazing”… egg whites and avocado.

“She’s actually easy because we eat the same breakfast,” Longoria said. ‘We both like egg whites and avocado. When we’re together… she makes great egg whites and avocado.

“For dinner it’s definitely steamed fish. Steamed fish, steamed vegetables. She’s easy. It’s actually the opposite. She’s actually easy, not difficult.’

It comes months after Victoria’s husband revealed details of her less-than-appealing diet on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast, during which he said she ate grilled fish and steamed vegetables during their marriage.

‘I get quite emotional when it comes to food and wine. “When I eat something great, I want everyone to try it,” he said.

‘Unfortunately, I’m married to someone who has been eating the same food for 25 years. Since I’ve known her, she only eats grilled fish and steamed vegetables, and she rarely deviates from that.

“The only time she probably ever shared something that was on my plate was when she was pregnant with Harper and that was the most amazing thing.

‘It was one of my favorite nights. I don’t remember what it was, but I know she hasn’t eaten it since.’

Victoria previously admitted that she doesn’t eat food cooked in oil, butter or sauces, and she doesn’t eat red meat or dairy products.

In the same podcast, the designer said: ‘For most restaurants, I’m probably their worst nightmare. I like some steamed veggies, some balsamic vinegar and then to season myself.

‘I like things to be cooked in a very simple way. I don’t like oils, butters or sauces. Here I sound even more boring in the food department.’

“She’s actually easy because we eat the same breakfast,” Longoria, 49, told DailyMail.com. “We both love egg whites and avocado… She makes great egg whites and avocado.”

Longoria, who describes herself as Texican, said she had 1,000 recipes from her travels in Mexico and decided to put them all together in a cookbook.

Victoria also confessed that her comfort food was a piece of whole wheat toast with salt on it, and on her birthday she celebrates with a fruitcake.

She said: ‘I like whole wheat toast with salt on it. It’s those carbs that give you a comforting feeling and I like salt.’

The former Spice Girl has previously spoken openly about her love of egg whites and avocado.

In 2017, she posted a video of herself dressed in a white robe as she prepared the protein-packed breakfast for her team during a business trip in Boston.

Best friend Longoria’s diet is much more exciting than Victoria’s, with the philanthropist recently launching her own cookbook, My Mexican Kitchen: 100 Recipes Rich with Tradition, Flavor and Spice.

Longoria, who describes herself as Texican, said she had a thousand recipes from her travels in Mexico and decided to compile them into a cookbook.

“There are a lot of dishes that I added because of my husband,” she said before revealing that she cooks tacos for her family three times a week.

“A family favorite is tacos and I know that’s typical, but I love taco night,” she said. “We could have taco night every night of the week… my family loves tacos.”

Longoria, who lives in Spain, said she does not have a private chef and enjoys cooking for her husband José Bastón and their six-year-old son Santiago, who she said would eat anything.
