There’s no party like a Black Ops 6 double XP weekend party, because a Black Ops 6 double XP weekend party has Nuketown

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting its first double XP weekend and, I’m not kidding, it is this weekend, like tomorrow. Activision is firing up the XP hose from November 1 to November 4 to celebrate the successful launch of Black Ops 6 and the arrival of fan-favorite map Nuketown.

And we’re talking the full double XP setup, which means you earn double account XP, double weapon XP and double Gobblegum earning rate at Zombies. What is a Gobblegum, you might be wondering if you are a simple PvP CoD player like me? They’re temporary buffs, like infinite ammo or instant revives, that make it easier to survive those later rounds and earn more XP as a result.

If, like me, you’re feeling pretty good about Call of Duty this year but haven’t had much free time to take weapons to the next level, four full days of double XP will be a godsend. It’s no coincidence that Treyarch is adding a 24/7 Nuketown playlist at the same time. There’s nothing CoD players love more than double XP and a small map perfect for grinding out kills. Nuketown isn’t as frenetic as Modern Warfare staples like Shipment or Rust, but it’s a worthy small-format battlefield for those racing to unlock the Black Ops 6 mastery camos.

I argue that Call of Duty is most fun when you unlock things twice as fast, and that perhaps Activision should consider doing this 52 times a year, but I’ll settle for the company’s generous four-day interpretation of a “weekend “: Double XP starts tomorrow and ends Monday, November 4.
