Young Thug’s girlfriend Mariah the scientist speaks out as he is released

Singer Mariah the Scientist has been diligently in the stands during many of Young Thug’s court hearings for Georgia’s RICO charges against him. Now that Thug, born Jeffery Williams, has been released after a plea deal, she is celebrating his return.

“Thank you God, thank you God. This is more than we prayed for,” Mariah the Scientist said in a statement via text message to Atlanta-based WSB-TV reporter Michael Seiden. “We are so grateful, this is the greatest opportunity we have ever had and we are so grateful. Thank you Judge Paige Whitaker for giving us the opportunity to move on with our lives! Thank you. Thank you Brian Steel and Keith Adams and every attorney working tirelessly on this case. THANK YOU! I can’t say it enough, I can’t repay you for this. You changed our lives, Jeffery’s and mine. Thank you to everyone who has been there for us, every fan, who believed in us and prayed for us.”

On the night of Thug’s release, Mariah the Scientist performed in Brooklyn during Latto’s Sugar Honey Iced Tea tour. On stage, she acknowledged the victory through tears with a prayer. “This has really taken a long time and it has been very difficult,” she said. “There were people who told me I would never see him again. There were people who laughed at me and laughed at the situation, and made fun of us. This shit is so fucking crazy, man,” she said before catching herself swearing.

“This should be a prayer,” she said before announcing her message to the crowd. “All the motherfuckers that doubted me and doubted this shit and said this nigga would never come back, fuck y’all. What are you going to say now, bitch?’ Mariah normally sends out a “Free Thug” message during her shows, but last night she said she had to change it up. “Let’s just get to the end so I can get on this plane!” she added.
