After starting the season on an 11-game unbeaten run, Monaco will have been devastated when they suffered a first defeat to Nice in the Derby de la Cote D’Azur last weekend.

Adi Hutter‘s men topped the table heading into the international break, but after losing top spot to a 0-0 draw at home to Lille, the principality’s side have now fallen three points behind Paris Saint-Germain after last week’s result.

A red card in the first half Vanderson was ultimately costly, as Monaco squandered an early lead and lost 2–1 in the Allianz Riviera, with Gaetan Laborde yield the winner.

Being back on home soil should be a blessing though as they are currently on their longest unbeaten home streak (11 games) for almost seven years.

That run stretches to thirteen games if all competitions are taken into account, and if Monaco can avoid back-to-back defeats with a win here for the first time in more than eighteen months, the pressure will shift back to PSG, they won’t play until Saturday against Lens.

The home side will also be heavily favored as they have won all of their last seven games against Angers – their longest run against any side – with the four home wins in that period coming with clean sheets.

However, the anger will be fueled by a first win of the campaign last week which had bottom-line implications, seeing them move up two places and completely out of the relegation zone, despite spending almost all of the season so far at the foot of spent the League. 1 ranking.

Alexandre DujeuxThe Manchester United side endured an intense encounter, being denied twice by Saint-Etienne, before eventually coming away 4-2 at the Stade Raymond-Kopa.

Despite being the favorites for the drop, Angers have proven difficult to beat. Their only defeat in the last six games came against Reims, leaving Marseille tied in that series.

However, Angers now face the league’s top two in their next two games, so their mettle will be sorely tested, especially considering they are still winless in 19 away games in Ligue 1.

Another winless away trip will see them become the first top side since Lorient to go at least 20 games without a win between late 2020 and early 2022.

However, Dujeux’s men are currently unbeaten in three stages of the Raymond-Kopa, drawing each time, and another point would be celebrated here in a big way, while also seeing them record their longest unbeaten run on the road in three years.

Team news

Red cards in consecutive matches mean Monaco will be without a defensive duo Jordan Teze and Vanderson here, leaving a gaping hole at right back, so Wilfried Singo may be forced to move and take up residence in a large area.

Hutter’s defensive issues have already been exhausted by the current absence of Mohammed Salisuwho returned from international duty with Ghana injured, so young Christian Mawissa Elebi can be set up.

Monaco’s other injury concerns are concerns Folarin Balogunwho will miss the coming months after dislocating his shoulder in early October.

Anger has been able to welcome Bamba Dieng back into the side as a late substitute for the past two weeks, and after scoring the decisive goal that took the game past St Etienne a week ago, he could be in line to return to the starting XI.

Lilian Raolisoa will serve the final match of his three-match suspension for the red card he received against Marseille while fellow defenders Cedric Houndondaji And Jacques Ekomie are out with thigh injuries.

Possible starting line-up for Monaco:
Majecki; Singo, Mawissa Elebi, Kehrer, Caio Henrique; Camara, Zakaria; Akliouche, Golovin, Ben Seghir; Embolo

Anger’s possible starting lineup:
Fofana; Arcus, Biumia, Lefort, Hanin; Aholou, Belkhdim; Niane, Abdelli, El Melali; Dieng

We say: Monaco 3-0 Angers

Monaco’s start was still remarkable despite last week’s derby defeat, and they will be heavy favorites to return to victories against one of Ligue 1’s relegation candidates.

Despite a good result last weekend, Angers has not yet had as tough a test as when he left for Monaco, and it could be a difficult evening.
