IndyFest 2024: Pollster and Sandoval are optimistic voting in Nevada will go smoothly

Nevadans are confident their votes will be accurately counted in the general election, Republican pollster Dave Sackett said Friday in the opening panel at IndyFest 2024.

Sackett, a founding member of The Tarrance Group, and UNR President Brian Sandoval discussed ‘Polling and Democracy’ with Nevada independent CEO and editor Jon Ralston and reporter Eric Neugeboorte The Indies‘s annual conference.

Sackett said the polls showed Nevadans do not believe the perceived threats that have emerged nationally have anything to do with the state’s election system.

Sandoval, a former Republican governor who co-chairs the state’s Democracy Defense Project, said a dose of skepticism among voters means they are engaged in the process and doing their homework.

“I’m always optimistic,” Sandoval said. “I think this is a great opportunity that we have this election cycle. I think once all the ballots are counted, there will be a validation and you’ll see that we’re going to have an incredible election.”
