Flavors Restaurant and Lounge sustains significant fire damage

Flavors Restaurant and Lounge was heavily damaged and adjacent businesses had minimal smoke damage.

ROCKY, MOUNT, NC (WTVD) — Rocky Mount firefighters spent hours putting out a restaurant fire Friday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched to a fire at a commercial building on N. Washington Street just after 8 a.m. When they arrived, they reported heavy fire conditions on the first and second floors of Flavors Restaurant and Lounge.

By 11:45 a.m., they said crews had the fire under control.

Investigators say the building sustained extreme damage and the other businesses next to the restaurant had minimal smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Rocky Mount Fire Department said Flavors Restaurant and Lounge was heavily damaged and adjacent businesses had minimal smoke damage.

At least 33 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire, according to the RMFD.
